President’s Summary of 10/14/21 PTA Meeting

Hello members! Whew – October is very busy at Abe Lincoln! The meeting last Thursday, 10/14, was all about fall fun.

First up, the kickoff of our Fall Fun Run PTA fundraiser, which is ongoing and will culminate in a during-school event for students on Wednesday, Nov. 3.

Officers and chairs shared information about the: first all-school assembly of the year, upcoming Veteran’s Day Hall of Vets, ongoing virtual book fair, Kits for Kids charitable activity lead by Inside Out Club, ongoing lunch delivery partnership with Jason’s Deli and the Dine Out team. Megan Lowrie led celebrations over the success of the first 5th Grade Gives Back popsicle and tattoo sales event.

Sara Densmore and Caroline Noschese introduced the new Lincoln 504/IEP Family Network that will kick off in November; the group is a supportive community for Lincoln families and students who receive services.

Co-presidents Tiffany Ruddle and Marta Scarleski reiterated the mission of the PTA to bring students, staff, and families together in fun – and stress-free! – ways. They thanked the committee chairs for their incredible flexibility and commitment to bringing creative programming to this year within the safety framework. Keep going and keep being kind, Lincoln!
