GPS: How to Raise an Adult & Your Turn: How to Be an Adult

What does it mean to be an adult? So much has changed about the world that the usual markers of adulthood don’t seem to apply. Faced with those markers, too many feel they’re just playing the part of “adult,” while struggling with anxiety, and general unease. Lythcott-Haims is here to offer compassion, personal experience and inspiration for living a more authentic adulthood based on her just released book, “Your Turn: How to Be An Adult.” She will also share strategies from her perennial bestseller “How to Raise an Adult” and discuss the ways in which overparenting harms children, their stressed-out parents, and society at large. This former Stanford dean will share a practical framework that underlines the importance of allowing children to make their own mistakes and develop the resilience, resourcefulness, and inner determination necessary for success.
