What is 5th Grade Drama?

The 5th grade Drama Club is open to ALL 5th grade Lincoln students. This is a highly anticipated event all students excitedly wait to participate in. We strongly encourage all 5th graders to participate in this no cut production; everyone will have a role. They will learn all they need to know about acting, singing and dancing from our amazing director, Gina Wood, who also directs plays put on by D41 Kids Foundation and other D41 School Drama Clubs. Most importantly, they will have FUN!

  • $90 fee includes acting, singing, and dance instruction from a local professional director, a club t-shirt, dress rehearsal meal, and cast party.
  • Confidential financial assistance is available by contacting Dawn Scholl, Lincoln’s Social Worker, at [email protected].
  • Costumes and makeup will need to be provided by participants, with directions from the director.
  • Parents will be asked to volunteer for rehearsals and the production.
  • Tickets to the show will be sold at an additional cost.
  • Parent and all cast meeting will take place shortly after rehearsals begin.

Who can join?

No experience necessary and ALL 5th graders are welcome!

When does 5th Grade Drama meet?

Rehearsals are generally on Tuesdays and Fridays starting September 10th in the Old Gym from 3:30-5:30 pm unless otherwise noted. Performances will be held at Hadley Jr. High the weekend of Dec 7-8th. Click here for a more detailed schedule.

We understand that our fifth graders and their families are busy. Each student’s family will have the opportunity to list conflicts so that the rehearsal schedule can work for all involved. Students looking for a smaller commitment will also have the opportunity to opt for an “ensemble only” role. Once conflicts are worked out, and the schedule is set, kids are discouraged from missing more than two rehearsals.
