This inspirational memoir of resilience is a testament to Westover’s courage -as she struggles to reconcile her desire for education and autonomy with her desire to be loyal to her survivalist, isolated, and violent family. After her first experience in a classroom at 17, her passion to be educated took her to Harvard University and Cambridge, where she earned her PhD. Raw and powerful this award-winning book remained on the bestseller list for almost three years. Tara Westover will be interviewed in conversation with Heidi Stevens of the Chicago Tribune.
