Eboo Patel — We Need to Build: Education for Diverse Democracy
Dr. Eboo Patel is a Glenbard South graduate and the founder and president of Interfaith Youth Core (IFYC). His first book Acts of Faith is a coming-of-age story about a Muslim immigrant’s search for identity and the development of an interfaith youth movement focused on building bridges across forms of difference that too often cause division. Now, from this faith adviser to Presidents, comes his most recent book We Need to Build: Field notes for Diverse Democracy. Patel tells the stories of what he’s learned and how, in the process, he came to construct as much as critique and collaborate more than oppose. Following his remarks, UCLA Professor Dr. Tyrone Howard, author of All Children Must Thrive will join Dr. Patel in conversation.
