At the Monday, April 29th meeting, Theresa Ulrich, Director of Language Programs at D41 shared the district philosophy that all students are language learners. She shared program initiatives for ESL, FLES, and Dual Language students and responded to member questions about the changes to instruction at Hadley and D41 students’ transition to West’s language programs.
PTA Council welcomed and congratulated new D41 BOE member, Jessica Buttimer, and Board President, Bob Bruno, to the meeting. PTA Council thanked Erica Nelson for her years of service on the Board. Bruno shared that D41 would be moving forward with inclusionary practices and focus next on finalizing the budget. Bruno thanked the PTA for their service and thoughtful questions, welcoming their input to the Board. Members discussed the timing of PTA meetings and acknowledge opportunities to improve board member attendance through strategic assignments based on availability.
Dr. Gordon shared an update on construction and Erika Krehbiel gave an update on the Run Hide Fight conversation drills that will be happening with students in May.
D41 PTA Council will meet again at the beginning of the 2019-2020 school year. We thank our members for their thoughtful approach to PTA initiatives and the impact we have on students every day. We look forward to the celebrations of a successful year. Have a great summer!
