Community Outreach

Community Outreach is a network of students and parents that support families and students in District 41 who are in need.  Families and their needs are identified by school social workers, teachers and administrative staff.  Items provided may include school supplies, clothing, and household items such as shoes, coats, baby gear, etc.

Give

You can help us throughout the year by participating in our many activities:

  • Family Tree ReSale – shop or donate anytime and tell them you are from D41 so that your activities will be credited to our district voucher total. Earned vouchers will be given to District 41 families in need, who can use them to shop at Family Tree ReSale.
  • Winter Outerwear Drive – in October, donate clean, gently used coats, snowpants, hats, and gloves at Lincoln
  • Halloween Costume Drive – in mid-October, donate clean and gently used costumes at Lincoln
  • Holiday Sharing Program – in November, deliver christmas gift donations to Lincoln
  • Become a Committee Member – you will be emailed regarding donation needs as they arise

Volunteer

The school Social Worker notifies the Committee Chair of any specific needs to be filled.  The Committee Chair contacts Committee Members, requesting specific items to be dropped at the Chair’s home.  The Committee Chair then delivers the items to the school Social Worker. The committee works year-round to meet needs as-needed.

For specific Drives and the Holiday Sharing Program, the Committee Chair coordinates collection bins and school-wide announcements.
